Perhaps you may have a need to divide a given Path into equally spaced portions or to indicate some marks along your path in some way. Possibly for adding or removing or moving nodes on the path.
Below is one way to do this.
These "brushes" are already marked into equal divisions ... from 2, 3, 4 etc. up to 24 divisions.
You can use them in various ways. Such as ... create your path, then copy a brush into memory, then use Path Effects > Path Along Path with the Pattern Copies field set yo Single Stretched or Repeated Stretched and then use the Paste Path icon. The result will show your desired path marked with equal division lines.
Or you could copy one of these brushes into memory and use the Pencil or Bezier Tool ... with the From Clipboard or Bend from Clipboard Shape mode selected. Then draw out your osth and see your Path "marked" into specific equal divisions.
Below is a simple graphic showing the brushes in use and a 7z zipped file with the various brushes in an InkScape svg file.
BTW ... if you use the Pencil or Bezier Tool and your "result" has a fill color that obstructs seeing the equal division lines, just remove the fill and keep the stroke ... so that you can se it clearly.
** Another potential use for these brushes is to flip them and re-size them so that they "fit" the width of height of a desired Path ... and slight them to the needed path ... so that you can visusl portions or use as a secondary Path to "slice and dice" the main path ... and/or add, delete, or move nodes as needed. **
