After upgrading from 1.2 to 1.4 today, inkscape is now too large for my screen, even when minimised and with the taskbar turned off I can not resize the window to a size small enough that I can see the whole window. I've been troubleshooting with chatgpt but she was useless for over an hour? Does anyone have a fix for this problem?

Under main menu View is a Wide Screen toggle - can you test this?
