Hello everyone. I am in need of some help. I tried to open Inkscape tonight and a window I have never seen before, titled SVG Input is the only thing that pops up. I can click OK, or Cancel, which both gives me a box that says Inkscape has crashed. Previous to this it worked as it always had. I didn't do anything, I didn't change anything. Im not aware of anything that I did different. I am a very simple user. I know almost zero computer lingo, so I feel helpless and hopeless. I included screen shots of the popup windows that I get each time I try to open Inkscape. Im using a MacBook with Sonoma 14.3.1
Also, a little side note, I am never able to open Inkscape "normally" I have always had to open a previous document, or else Inkscape will never load and open otherwise.
I´d get me free AppCleaner.app - launch it and drag Inkscape.app icon into its window - it will collect all installed files - delete all and empty trash - install latest (Intel or AppleSilicon from here: https://inkscape.org/release/1.3.2/mac-os-x/ you even didn´t tell Mac specs) and open Inkscape. Fingers crossed.
Polygon, Thank you for your help. If I use AppCleaner will it delete my files I have made in Inkscape? I really don't want to loose those drawings I have.
No - it´ll will collect and make a list of all related Inkscape instalments in the hidden Library folder. It´s not touching your user folder. After the list is displayed you still can disable certain files from deletion if needed.
