I have been using Inkscape for the last 4 or 5 years. I use bezier pens exclusively as I trace an imported background to make patterns for my Intarsia. Couple of questions.
When using the pen can I have all nosed as diamond vs square as a default?
Today I can't grab node handles very well. I have them at max but must have pushed another button. When in edit nodes there is now a box of arrows like F1 object selector over node.
Lastly why do I get twinned blue nodes where if I move one node the other blue node move and equal amount.
I see the 4 arrows button on the nodes edit line but it doesn't seem to work. Is there a place in preferences to turn that feature off? I attached a screen shot and it is the arrows bounding box that I don't want to see as it just makes it harder to manipulate the handles.

Cusp/Corner nodes on the fly using the Bezier pen takes practice, but with shift-drag one can set the Bezier handles' corner angle and magnitude.
There is a button on the node tool controls for transform handles on/off toggle. Look for four arrows.
If a segment between nodes is selected, the endnodes are selected... dragging one will move both. Maybe that is happening.

Any help is appreciated.
