What is 'Inkscape not working with extensions' for Miki Z? I mean, what exactly happened? This is such an unspecific problem description, that I think it will lead to more damage than it helps users to fix their problem with extensions.
What the presenter is doing is reset the preferences (there's a buttom for that in Inkscape), and then removing the old extension files and replacing them by updated ones. Deleting the error log does exactly nothing.
Updating an extension can often help when it's not working with a newer Inkscape version, so that part makes sense. Deleting one's preferences should not be necessary. Neither does deleting the error log contribute to any fix.
Please, everyone, before you scrap your preferences, come to the Inkscape chat or forums or ask the authors of your specific extension for support.
You don't think that all other options have been tried before this resolution? Please don't assume! None of the resetting within Inkscape nor numerous fresh reinstall of inkscape 0.95 and up until the new beta and restarts would fix this problem. Many people have had this issue and I had it now for about a year until I finally got to looking into it again. The only Solution which worked for me and other in the groups where I'm in is this which I made a video of. Anyone who had that issue will know what it means, is and does. Even the developers thought that it is their extending which were malfunctioning so they built new ones specifically for Inkscape 1.0+ and still the problem persisted... The extentions(Living Hinge and others) simply did not work for many and Inkscape kicked out an error every time one attempted to use it. This video and prices is a long awaited resolution for living Hinge users and will not consider anyone.
Sadly deleting the preferences and the error log was the only resolution here. Maybe it should be looked into why that was and still is the case.
If you don't know what a living Hinge is you don't need to worry about fixing it and how to.
