Good evening. I'm trying to use the trace bitmap function convert a png file into vector file. However, the trace bitmap window does not have the functions to complete the process. Please assist.
My OS is Win 10. Inscape version is the latest 1.01. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software today. I was following a youtube tutorial on how to convert a .png to a vector file. I'm trying to digitize SVG, PNG and JPEGs. When I click on path and trace bitmap, I don't get the window to complete the vector conversion process. I was tryin to to do a print screen but I can't paste it here. The box contains the following: Options: speckles smooth corners optimize.
I'm having issues as well. I'm using it in conjunction with Import PDF file. Trace Bitmap was working earlier and now all of the sudden it is not. Nothing on my system has updated. My OS is Win 10. Inkscape is 1.0. I'm trying to import a PDF and then trace Bitmap. I've been working with 2 different PDFs (a black/white and a color). It did quite a few tracings--and seemed to be working fine. Then all of the sudden, it no longer worked. I am able to just do Trace Bitmaps on png/jpg files. Well, it now seems to have resolved itself. So, I don't know if there is some type of glitch and then it's fixing itself after a short period of time (~30 minutes)... Just some input.
EDITED: I did find that my image had several layers and one was a white (or clear) layer so I didn't see it. When I clicked on Trace Bitmap I had selected the correct object but it was not the top layer of the image and that was causing my issue. Hope that helps someone else.

Describe your OS & version, the version of Inkscape and the installer you used, plus any special hardware like tablet/stylus or multiple monitors.

Screenshots can be saved and attached to replies. The paperclip button below the reply textarea opens the attachment tools.
