I guess I haven't used this extension in quite some time. But I was trying to convert a line to dashes today and I could not get it to work using version 1.1. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling older versions of Inkscape. I ended up getting the extension to work in version .92. My question is.... Is this a known issue in versions 1.0 or newer? Or, how can I get this extension to work in version 1.1? I don't seem able to find an extension that I could install to do this. BTW, I also tried using the path effect dashed stroke but it doesn't give me the result I want. I want my dashed line to have nodes on the ends of each dashed line so it will cut that way with my Cricut or Silhouette Cameo.
Thanks for responding. That is exactly what I did to try and convert my line to dashes. It simply changes the line back to one solid line. I'm pretty sure I have used this extension at least sometime after the update to 1.0 or 1.1 last year so I just don't get why it isn't working now. But the pattern along path is a good substitute that I hadn't thought of. I'll use it until I figure out why the extension has simply stopped working for me.
If the older version of Inkscape was uninstalled, but user preferences were retained, there may still be a .92 version of the extension in the user profile: C://users/username/AppData/roaming/inkscape/extensions/.
The two files are convert2dashes.py and convert2dashes.inx. These should be removed from the user profile. It might be worth removing all extensions from the user profile, unless they are known to work with the latest version of Inkscape.

Not sure what to say other than it works her with Inkscape 1.1 (c4e8f9e, 2021-05-24):
Alternatively you can use Pattern along path->Object to Path.

Probably just a shot into the blue but sometimes it seems to reset the Inkscape preferences work wonders. Good luck on your projects.

Thank you Tyler! That solved my problem. 😀
It happens to me if I don't previously convert the stroke to a path. On paths, it works fine, on strokes it revert them to a solid line.
