    Hello all.

I am new to Inkscape and have been having a lot of fun over the last few days getting to grips with the app.

I am a huge fan of the Fallen London web game and was inspired by the cameo images they use as character portraits.

Today I decided to make my own custom cameo using my own profile photo (see image).

I want to give it a background that looks like old paper, how do I create that old paper look?

    Cheers

    Edit:

So I managed to figure it out. It was quite easy using one of the inbuilt filters.

I still have some work to do on my cameo, especially the beard, and I also want to add a distressed effect to the cameo, but at least I now have a background I am happy with :)

I shall attach a new pick of the still unfinished cameo with the paper background.

    Edit:

I am more or less done now. I added the distressed effect using the mask tool.

I now have my own forum avatar for Inkscape forum :)
