I'm a total newbie here and I'd like to be able to do this to create pieces for assembly in woodworking plans. I looked but couldn't find this anywhere.
Are there any tutorials that cover how to use Inkscape specifically for woodworking? Creating joins, etc.?
Might be a push. Inkscape is a 2d vector program, for graphics. Something like what you require, FreeCAD or even a a push QCAD. You can make things "look" 3d, but in reality, it's just a 2d graphics application (a great one at that though!)
