    Ok here's another visual.

LMB = Left Mouse Button. Yellow highlight = press.

Note that I am pressing LMB on the rotation handle first, then the spacebar to stamp the first object while holding down the LMB, then dragging the rotation handle to the next position continuing to hold the LMB, pressing spacebar to stamp again, all while holding the LMB continuously.

NB: Uploading files with profanity in the title or content can be grounds for banning.

While this is a neat approach I‘d use LPE Rotate Copies for the sake of freedom of editability.

I still cant get the above to work, when I press left mouse button I get a popup menu with paste and document properties and the object wont move.  I've heard of this LPE rotate but cant seem to find it under any of the menus so assumed its an extra add in which I haven't found the download for.

Ok, for some reason your left mouse button is behaving like a right one.

Rotate Copies is a stock path effect.  Menu: Path>Path Effects, dialog will open and a dropdown menu has the effect list.

I am left handed for mousing (more fingers on that hand) so my 'other button' would be the normal clicker if I was right handed.  Does Inkscape not follow windows for the mouse settings?

Ended up using this, much, much easier.
Thank you for trying to help.

Pattern along Path effect will distort your initial design which Rotate Copies won‘t and it´s also just „mouse driven“.
