I have multiple straight lines drawn using the Pen tool. I'm able to join the nodes of two lines into one using the Node tool. But it's not joining three or more into one node. Every time I select the three nodes, only two are joined together.
I need a point in the middle from which three or more lines go outward. How do I do that? I have added pictures of what I want and what actually is happening in Inkscape.
A point is a position on a single path. They define the arrival and departure of the path at the location of the point. So they only have 2 directions.
To combine other points, they must be superimposed . You can use magnetism for that.
As mentioned above, snapping ("magnetism") will allow positioning additional nodes at the same location, giving the appearance of three or more segments connecting at a single point.

There´s no T-junction possible in SVG - you can join just 2 end-nodes or combine different path segments but only 1 style per path is possible then.
@GSolutions what is magnetism? Do you mean node-snapping?
Only two segments can connect to a single node.
