I have asked on the page but no answer after almost 2 weeks.  Can someone please explain where in the extensions I find this?  I have tried to install to both user and inkscape extensions folders in turn, but it doesn't seem to show under that menu under either installation.

I don't think that extension has been updated, nor is it still supported.

That is as may be, but where/ how do I find it? I would still like to have a play with it to see what it could do for my works 😎

It is broken and no longer compatible with Inkscape. It should be removed from the gallery.

Ok- thanks so I should just delete it from my user extensions?  Pity.

    🙈

I would delete. It is not going to work.

    👍

I’d use LPE „Rotate Copies“ instead.

I am experimenting with rotate copies- I just need to make sure the origin shape will "fit" :)

[Rotate copies] works very well for most shapes, but it won't work with bitmaps or text. For that you need tiled clones. First select the objects you want to clone and group them [ctrl+g]. Select the group than [Edit > Clones > Create Tiled Clones...]

[Rows, columns: 1 x 9]                          single row of nine clones
[Shift] [Shift X: Per column: -100 %]      each clone lies on top of the original
[Rotation] [Angle: Per column: 360/9     circle divided by number of clones
    [Create]

Open the group and select one or more objects inside the group. Use the keyboard to rotate ( ] and [ ), scale ( > and < ), or move ( ↑ ↓ and ) them around. You can paste or draw new shapes inside the group. All changes will be reflected in the rotated clones.

Here's an example to play with.
