I've been following a tutorial on how to make extruded letters and such, following all the steps...lovely...but when i use the extrude function i dont get the same image the tutorial shows and when i colour the extruded parts only the top and bottom sections are coloured and the bits inbetween remain grey, quite frustrating as i can't see whats causing this, i've put a picture of whats going on, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm having a similar problem. Trying to make a logo. Please see image attached. I'm able to extrude a 'Q' using Falcons font. When I try with 2 or more letters, I get these errant spikes. The process I followed is: Typed 'QE", scaled it up, used Object to Path, Ungroup, Path Union, Path effects-Perspective (Mirror vertical), Object to Path, Duplicate, Raise the duplicate and scale it up, Select duplicate and original, Extensions, Generate from Path, selected polygons, apply. Any suggestions?
Hey, I had the same problem but I found a solution.
I found that if you select all the text individually and go to path > union, and then try to extrude it won't corrupt the text and will behave normally.
