My wife has a project where she wanted some CAD type drawings done, not really knowing what was to be involved. Neither she nor I are familiar with CAD software so she had someone do the work for her. When she got the results the files were for 3D printing. We don't have a 3D printer and she didn't really want that as a result, rather 2D files for regular printing.
Can Inkscape convert 3D to 2D? the file type she was sent was .SLDPRT.
I'm "one of those people" who enjoy the challenge of file conversions. Going from a 3D model to a 2D representation will require some give-and-take with questions and answers and maybe even some failed attempts.

Inkscape cannot, but a number of members here can convert the file to 2d.
Feel free to put the solidworks file in a zip file and attach to your reply. Myself or others will convert it for you.
