Beyond the Basics Is this something that Inkscape can already do?

Apologies if I haven't looked enough or something like that, but I was wondering if there was something, maybe an LPE, that acted similar to a feature present in Affinity Designer (maybe there are similar features in other software as well, but that's the only one I know of) which allows you to basically edit "simulated pen pressure" with something like a curve editor which determines the stroke width along the path.

Here's a rough illustration of what the feature looks like.

I know Power Stroke already exists, but that does not (as far as I know) work on closed paths, at least not as easily.

So I'm wondering if there's a way to edit strokes in a similar manner, and if not, if it would be a possible thing to implement (or if you know of other free software [in both meanings] that can achieve this as well, I know Krita can handle vectors but don't know if modifying paths in a more advanced way is doable)

I find Powerstroke easier to grasp than the Dynamic stuff in AD honestly, because you´re editing directly at the path. And AD it has flaws with closed paths also.

Yeah, after fiddling around with it for a bit longer I figured out how to add more of the pink nodes. I was holding CTRL and dragging the pink node to try to duplicate it, but nothing would happen, then I found out you had to just CTRL + click once, and THEN move the new node... so this is something that could probably be a bit more intuitive, but other than that, yeah, I got it

Yup - always have a look at the Status Bar for hints. tricks and drinks. Wait - no drinks?
