hey all, i've been having this issue for quite a while (several months at least) where i can't use my mouse to select a font or scroll in the font dropdown menu -- i can search fonts by typing or i can use the up and down arrow keys, but neither of those is super helpful when i've got hundreds of fonts, haha.
i was still on the beta version of 1.0 i think, but i just downloaded 1.2.2 and it's still doing it! can anyone help figure out what's going on???

First I´d try https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.3alpha0/
and then it seems good practice after updates to go Inkscape´s Preferences->System, hit the Reset Preferences button and restart Inkscape.
that did the trick!! thank you!! here i was thinking the established version was a better bet over the beta haha
Happy to hear you´re back on track.
Hi Polygon!
I had the same issues as arielle - i.e. being unable to use my mouse to select a font or scroll in the font dropdown menu.
The update to Inkscape 1.3alpha0 for macOS : dmg (arm64) has done the trick for me.
Thanks!
@Archiblog which macOS you´re on? I´m not sure the Ventura issues with GTK3 have been resolved in any way.
