Where is the zoom tool? Is it on some toolbar?
I can access it with the keyboard shortcut only (F3).
It's the fourth tool from the top (Select, Node, Tweak, then Zoom)

It is a magnifying glass for me (Windows). But I seem to recall you're on Mac?

Depends on your icon set, I have a magnifier, too, but your Linux distro and theme may decide to use different icons.
