Greetings everyone. I’m reaching out to seek your guidance regarding keyboard shortcuts for navigating between layers and objects in Inkscape.
Current Issues:
Non-Functional Hotkeys:
The up and down arrow keys are currently activating renaming actions instead of allowing me to move the selection between objects or layers.
Missing Functionality:
I would like to be able to use the up and down arrow keys to navigate through the selection of objects or layers without moving them. This would greatly enhance my workflow.
What I Need:
I need hotkeys that allow me to:
Move the active selection up or down through layers or objects (using the up and down arrow keys).
Change the active layer for my selection without altering its position.
What I Don’t Need:
I do not need the Shift + Page Up and Shift + Page Down shortcuts, as these move the object itself rather than just changing the selection context.
If there are any existing solutions or workarounds, or if there is a way to customize these hotkeys, I would greatly appreciate your insights. I did not find how to fix this on the forum, manual or in hotkeys.
Inkscape version: Inkscape 1.4 (e7c3feb100, 2024-10-09) (extra/inkscape) Linux version: Arch linux, KDE Plasma 6.2.3
