Beginners' Questions Find an object in the Layers & Objects panel

I'm a recent convert from Illustrator (CS6, which is why I'm moving to Inkscape). Running Inkscape 1.2 on Windows 11.

My file was originally created from a PDF that I assume was generated from something like AutoCAD, because it's a detailed floor plan of a building. An OLD detailed floor plan of a building.

The SVG file has approximately 5 gazillion objects, all helpfully named g4360, g4356, g4352, etc. I've been working my way through the file, cleaning up text objects and grouping them so that I can find them later.

But I still have this massively long list of objects, and when I click on one of them in the drawing, I have to scroll through the Layers & Objects panel to find the selected object.

Is there an easier way to do this - to locate a selected object in the Layers & Objects panel?

    Thanks!

Maybe the Edit > Select Same... feature will be of some help, with it you can select objects with similar attributes. In this example, I clicked on a filling object and, through it, I selected the one that had the same characteristic:

Thanks, but I'm trying to find the object in the Layers & Objects panel, not on the image itself.

That functionality will (should) return in v1.3... objects selected in the workspace will autoscroll the L&O panel.

This feature is already available in recent development builds if you're feeling brave.
