Looks sleek! 

Some random thoughts. Hardly related to the appearance of a fixed layout but hte ux, so skip them if that's another department. 

Personally I'd search for ways how to divide the focus the less.

Maybe use a bit larger icons, maybe try out some colour coding between them. 

Using the blue for all the target is a bit confusing although reasonable.

I'd prefer if only the person I'm having a conversation on screen is present, 

to have my "undivided attention". Not this "Oh sorry I'm talking to Tiffany, hold on. (Received two messages -an emoji and an animated gif.)

Wouldn't use rounded corners on the attachment thumbnails.

The purpose of the time stamps of the messages is intended to make searching conversations easier. 

However that data is only interesting in court journals. 

Would try to emphasize on how to mark separate sessions and make them searchable as a hole instead of separate messages. 

Maybe for the search field instead a magnifier, provide a calendar view too.

Not sure about the bell/notification sign. Like there is a list on the left with all the messages as notifications. 

Would prefer if the system had a section there as well so that a notification wouldn't pop up without me knowing of its content.

Someone requesting messaging? That'd definitely fit in the left section, marked as "pending". 

Notification showing you reached the upload limit? Same. 

Somewhere before the "archives" section. 

Oh why is there an archives section anyway? Instead you could add your own tabs and create select groups of participants. 

Could function the same by creating a new tab for archives, yet it's more comforting knowing you are implied to take some cleaning time to time.
