The Live Path Effect > Tiling can easily create hundreds of ideas for designs. This svg file has 85 objects that can be used as reference material. Or for establishing grids when creating logos or lettering or layouts, etc.

They can be be combined and used  for stretching your imagination. Since the Tiling LPE allows you to overlap your starting tiles, the possible combinations are incredible.
