Beginners' Questions Dark Theme like WIn32 for small screens

I use Inkscape in a laptop with screen resolution of 1366x768. I sit close enough to the computer that I can easily read and understand icons and text of small sizes, so everything in my laptop is set to small so that I can fit a lot in my screen space.

As much as I love the new themes and the dark mode of those, I don't like the large icons on the right side of the screen, they take too much space and don't fit all the necessary icons. Moreover, the docked tabs of Fill and Stroke, Align and Distribute are too wide even in their narrowest size and take almost half of my screen when I open the Transform tab there.

Attached are the screenshots of the win32 and High Contrast Inverse (dark mode) themes. The colour palette is messed up because I can't get them to be square tiles smaller than the default settings.

TL;DR: I want to have the condensed icons, buttons and tabs of the win32 theme but the dark and sleek look of the new themes. How do I do that? If I can't for now, I would like to give a feedback to the Inkscape team to help me fit the software in my screen.

Thank you, and congratulations to Inkscape for releasing 1.0!

Tengo el mismo problema, demasiado grande las ventanas de herramientas que hacen poco útil el espacio de trabajo.

The colour palette and the spinbuttons for the win32 theme doesn't show correctly. On two different Windows 10 computers this showed correctly after overriding high DPI scaling behaviour in the Shortcuts Properties Compatibility tab. The issues never reappeared after reverting again to default setting.

@Aero my colour palette seems to be exactly what I want in win32 theme when I set the Size to Small and Width to Medium. Usually they are set as Medium in both Size and Width and are rectangular as shown in previous HighContrastInverse theme's screenshot. In fact, both screenshots have all the same settings, except for the themes and icons (hicolor for HighContrastInverse and multicolor for win32 because hicolor becomes invisible on white).

I could not make the colour palette tiles to be smaller squares compared to the default settings, so I settled for smaller rectangles in the HighContrastInverse theme. Moreover, the tiles seem to become of different shapes and sizes at different themes, even if their settings are untouched.

Here is a screenshot of win32 theme with the colour palette being the size that I want. The "X" icon for the "No Colour" option has become "V", but that doesn't bother me that much.

This is how it looks on my computer (on top) compared to yours. The Colour palette and spin-buttons look different than yours.

while waiting for somebody to make a dark version of win32 theme, this workaround is good enough and its works with any dark theme.
