Beginners' Questions Calligraphy angle

Hi. Inkscape seems to be the best tool out there for calligraphy with a tablet. Version 1 looks awsome, but using the AppImage, my calligraphy pen doesn't work right. With stylus tilt enabled, it makes a thin line in the direction of tilt and a thick line perpendicular to the tilted pen. That's backwards from how I hold a calligraphy pen (or technically not backwards but 90° off). How do I change it?

To see what I mean, just select the calligraphy tool, draw a letter A with the default (30° angle) - thicker line on the right which is how it's supposed to look - and then enable the angle to be determined by pen tilt and make another A. You'll see the thicker line is on the left. So obviously the results are decent with tilt disabled, but that gives up the fleibility to change the angle on the fly, especially to just hold the pen vertical and make a thin stroke in any direction, which is necessary for some styles of embellishment.

This might be a bug, but I'm new enough to inkscape that it may just be a setting I can't find.
