Beyond the Basics Inkscape not following my lines after I export to DXF

After I path to GCode my file that I’ve been working on, it gives me this. It seams like it isn’t following my lines exactly, does anyone know the reason and how to fix this?

JesseD, where would you like the answer? Here or in the chat?

(and would maybe this be a bug, so needs to be reported at https://inkscape.org/report ?)

Okay. Can you describe the steps that you take to get the result you have there?

(I can't even import the dxf file, Inkscape 1.1 first asks me for options for dxf import, then for options for embedding an SVG, and then ... nothing.)

So this problem is new, I've exported hundreds of dxf files from this program but lately when I export all of my shapes are warped and not exact with how I made them, So I make the shape how I want it then I go to path to gcode and then I go to the preference tab and I name it with the .dxf at the end and go back to the first tab and click apply then it gives me the file in the first picture I uploaded

So, the question is: what changed.

    • Did you update Inkscape just before it started?
    • Did you change anything in your Inkscape preferences?
    • Did you change any setting in the extension dialog for GCodetools > Path to GCode ?

(and how do you re-import the GCode file? I don't get how you made the comparison picture.)

I made the comparison picture while still in inkscape? when you path to gcode it'll show you the dxf file. As far as I'm aware no changes were made. if there is an easy fix like uninstall inkscape then reinstalling I'll gladly do that to get it back to its original settings. I just need a confirmation

Like Maren, I also don't see anything in the attached file. Opening it in 1.0, 1.0.x, and 1.1 gives me nothing (I think one of those versions has some items in the defs, but nothing on canvas).

Opening it in LibreCad, I dont' see anything either, but I'm not familiar with the program, so maybe I'm just missing it.

    1. Could you double-check the uploaded dxf works?
    2. Also, since only the export matters, could you share the imported svg?
    3. Removing `%APPDATA%\inkscape` (temporarily, and while inkscape is closed) will reset your preferences and extension options. Try that to see if it helps.

The contents of the "dxf file are gcode, not dxf formatted data.
