Is there any difference in File->Open… and File->Import…?

  3. #3
    CB CB @CB

NO, the route I took is open inkscape / import select pdf / import dialog box appears / select 1 page to import at rough / click import and programme states error and closes down.  Using file open / select pdf / opens import box / select 1 page / same result

Does the PDF opens in a browser?

further I have tried opening a number of other pdf files with same crash result in inkscape, they all opened no problem las t week

What has changed since last week? Do you have an example PDF you can share probably?

  8. #8
    CB CB @CB

nothing I know of has changed. The pdf are purchased from scalescenes railway modelling site and the conditions are that they are not shared. I dont think the files have corrupted in some way because they all open in acrobat and I have tried importingg a large number of them

    Perhaps downgrade to Inkscape1.3.2 then.

I have installed 1.3.2 and that seems to have worked.

    thanks for your efforts
