Certain downloaded fonts aren't available for use in Inkscape even though will show up in other programs (e.g. Gimp). Not sure if this is the issue, but when I view properties the absent font's location is; C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Fonts, whilst other fonts show the location C:\Windows\Fonts. Not sure how to rectify this.
I have had the same issue before. I believe you need to install the font for all users. Just right click on the font file and you should see the option available. Hopefully this resolves your issue!
Thanks for the replies. Neither of these options works. I don't seem to be able to 'place' the font in the Windows/Fonts directory. I presume you mean by Copy/Paste? I don't have a right click option for all users. I've decided to simply do the job in Gimp. Thanks again. LETMO
(Incidentally, I'm using a Japanese system, so am wondering if that affects the fonts' location address)
Windows 11 Home/ Inkscape. 1.2

I'd try placing the font in the Windows/Fonts directory.

That's possible, but not likely.
I'm wondering why the font cannot be placed (copy/paste, dragged & dropped, etc) directly into the Windows/Fonts directory via windows explorer. (?)
What font is it? Please attach a copy here for testing.
