Crop the image to that part you want to keep by: rotating to make it horizontally aligned • draw a small rectangle around the signature • select image and rectangle and go Object->Clip->Set • Context click=Crop image to Clip • now open "Trace bitmap..." and use the default settings and hit Apply:
