Beginners' Questions Inkscape 1.0 not working properly with Wacom Cintiq 16

    When I open Inkscape 1.0 on my Wacom Cintiq 16, the stylus position is dramatically offset with the coordinates on the screen. For example, when I tap on the Bezier tool, the Rectangle tool is selected. When I tap on the next tool down the menu (Freehand), the Ellipse tool is selected. This also happens when I draw onscreen. When I set the pen point down on the workspace, the cursor is offset higher up on the screen. How can I set the point of my stylus to center on the proper coordinates on my Cintiq screen? Oh yeah, this is not a problem when I use my standard monitor and a mouse.

    OS = Windows 10

    Hi. I don't have the answer, but this also isΒ happeningΒ toΒ me. I guess it is because I have two monitors with different resolutions... when I deactivate the second monitor (with lower resolution), the pen start works well. When I have the second monitor, there is a space-lag between the position of the pointer and what happens on the screen.Β Β

    BUMP. This is also happening to me. I also have a different resolution on my main screen than I do on my Cintiq. The mouse cursor is correctly positioned, the pen is not.

    Have you all set your wacom settings to "window" instead of "screen"?

    Thanks for the suggestion! Unless I'm missing something, there is no window vs. screen option in the Wacom tablet settings. The actual cursor displays correctly under the pen tip, but the program registers it as displaced, increasing propotionately the further away from top left it moves. This affects where the program registers clicks (from the pen), including the dropdown menus and dialogue boxes! This does not occur when moving my mouse cursor over onto the cintiq display.Β πŸ˜” Any other ideas?

    This issue was originally reported to Gitlab back in early 2020. I added my confirmation to the thread in October. You will find more details, including an embedded video demonstrating the problem, along with various solution attempts to fix it. It was never resolved. Eventually, it was elevated to a bug status, but as far as I know, no one has been actively working on it.

    Please refer to issue #1892 in the Gitlab / Inkscape site for details.

    @cl37167 Yes, the issue as reported there is an upstream issue (i.e. it can't be fixed in Inkscape) which makes fixing is very difficult.

    Please do add your +1 to the issue, maybe we can fund an outside programmer to come look at the problem if we get enough people to contribute.

    I found a solution, to change the tablets resolution (using windows 10) inside the screen settings (not in the pen display drivers).

    After some research it seems like the problem dosnt matter depending on the pen display device, for the record I use an XP-Pen.

    Until the solution is permanent, I hope this solves others issue.
