I am having trouble with the convert line to satin stitch. I have created the path and converted line to satin but is only runs a single line. Not sure what I am missing.
Or You can Do It The easy Way, And duplicate the paths you want satin, after you hit duplicate, before you click anywhere else, go to Extensions>Ink/stitch>Selection to Pattern, IWorks FOr me everytime
The file actually includes a satin column, but it is so narrow, that it looks like a running stitch.
So, as @Huertaaj described, set a reasonable width in the "Object > Fill and Stroke" panel before you convert the stroke to a satin.
@DocterSmooth that's an interesting idea and certainly a nice effect in some use cases. But it will look completely different from a real satin (in terms of stitch direction). When using this method it's really recommended to watch out for possible unwanted long stitches.
what can I do !!!!!!! this is very amazing I get the istake, the shape can't use the "convert line to satin" I have no idea about this mistake ,help me ,please, thank you very much !!!!😭
The current version (v2.2.0) has an issue with "convert line to satin" specifically for macOS. It will output one of the rails pointing into the wrong direction.
Solution: select one node of one rail and go to path > reverse.

Hello jawsfree:
Make sure you do the following...
1) Draw a bezier or freehand style curve and make sure it is selected
2) On the right go to Fill and Stroke, then Stroke Style on the top right
3) Assign a stroke width as desired. Satin stitch has to have a width defined
4) Run the Ink/Stitch extension, then Satin Tools/Convert Line to Satin
