I have a problem with Inkscape fonts

I am trying to print a line where the font is only 3mm tall, which is small. For some unknown reason when trying to print this small I end up with a double like for each font. Which at 3mm just blurs out what you are engraving. Is there a way to make each letter one line? Attached is USA about to be engraved and the engraver follows those double lines?

Strangely you do not see this in Inkscape when creating the image, it looks like a single fat line. I tried to trick it into believing the engraving tool head was far bigger than it is, thinking it would only do one pass per letter but it still wants to outline it like its cutting it out of the material?

This is what the Hershey Text extension is for. (Though, the Hershey Text extension does not handle text on a curve.)

There's a user guide for it available at https://wiki.evilmadscientist.com/Hershey_Text , which details how it works.

Thanks. since you mentioned it, I have tried the Heshey Text Extension. I found if you convert to Hershey, you no longer can do the curve. So what I did was ungroup the text so each letter is on its own

Then click drag and turn the text, once I finish it, I will then regroup. It is work but it will work, thanks

I actually thought I had this beat. I spent the last 2 hours replacing all my characters with single line characters in a circle. I then went to jscut to convert the svg to GCODE and because they are single line characters you cannot click on the character to get jscut realize you want to engrave it. It would appear JSCUT uses the space between the double lines of each character to highlight the character. No double line, no recognize the work to then produce the Gcode.  arghhh

Update- I stumbled upon ABViewer, man it woks well for me. I am able to convert SVG to GCODE or DFX to GCODE , what I find great is you can configure your tool height etc etc

Between Inkscape and ABViewer I think I have this beaten
