Beginners' Questions Selected objects won't move.

    After selecting object(s) yesterday with mouse and arrows, none of them would move.

    I finally did find a way to make them all move.

    I clicked the "X: Horizontal Coordinate of selection MINUS icon once" and that solved the problem. Now all objects move as normal.

    (2 questions)

    -Why did the selected objects stop moving?

    -Why did the MINUS icon fix the problem?

    Since I am the only one who uses this laptop, maybe I created the problem.

    AFAIK, this has not been reported before, so it is most likely operator error or a computer glitch.

    As a general rule, when Inkscape seems to behave unexpectedly:

    • I would save my document and restart Inkscape.
    • It the issue persists, I'd restart my computer.
    • If the issue still persists, I'd check the forum and bug reports for any similar issues.
