I am using Inkscape 1.3.2 (091e20e, 2023-11-25) on a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) running macOS Catalina (10.15.7).
ย
I was working in a file and pasted an image for reference next to the page on which I was drawing. After that, every time I closed a path, whether by the return/enter key or by clicking on the original node, it re-pasted the image. In that file, it re-pasted it three times and changed the proportions on one of them. It removed the path I had closed. I quit, came back in, and tried to make my path again. The same thing happened. The exact same thing: same three pasted copies, in the same proportions and positioned.
ย
I had to restart my computer to make it stop doing that. It did, though. No more trouble in that file.
ย
Just now, having quit Inkscape and reopened it for a different project, I imported an image into a new document and then, meaning to import a second image, I imported my second image into a second new document. I copied the second image and pasted it into my first one. I then tried to trace one of them. When I closed the path, the image I had pasted was repasted in a different location on the page and my path disappeared!
ย
I tried quitting and restarting Inkscape, but wasn't particularly surprised when it didn't help. I am not going to restart my computer again. I'll just wait until tomorrow to see if that fixes it again.
ย
I looked in the bug listing in Gitlab and didn't see it, but I have never been able to conceptualize the git process very well.
ย
Has this bug already been reported? Is anyone else having this problem? Is it just a problem I am having because my system is really too antiquated to use Inkscape 1.3?
I failed to notice. (In my family's own idiom, that phrase means, "It was right there in front of me, I should have noticed, but I didn't!" Long story that I shall omit here.)
ย
Thank you so much! I don't know how that got turned to "Last applied" (once again, I failed to notice), but it's back to "None."

Any enlightenment would be very appreciated!
The drawing tools have the option to use the clip-board content for shape creation - have you checkedย this property is set to "none"?
