Guys I'm brand new to Inkscape (complete rookie). I've been working with it for a few days then yesterday noticed an issue. First issue- my text is now gray even when I have black selected. Second issue- when I start typing text is keeps text centered on the starting point. For example, In the snapshot below I started typing my text in the upper lefthand corner of the canvas. Any tips on fixing these two issues are greatly appreciated!
With the Text tool active you will see the style controls above the top ruler. There you may find better tools for alignment, typeface, spacing etc. The Text/Font dialog is more useful for selecting styles and alternate glyphs.
Thanks Tyler. Before I saw your reply I actually did a system reset and that solved the issue. I now wish I wouldn't have done that so I could have figured out how to correct it. With me being at the kindergarten stage of learing this program I won't be surprised if it happens again lol.
