I am using Inkscape 0.92 on OSX 10.12.6.
I follow the instructions: cmd+U in a text box, "Unicode (Enter to finish)" appears along the bottom border, I enter eg. 2794 (for an arrow), the "Unicode (Enter to finish)" disappears, but no character appears.
Is there something I'm missing?
On my computer (Windows 10, Logitech MX keys), this only works with the keyboard (Not the numeric keypad).

Thanks, perfect. Though another Q would be, why doesn't the numeric pad work? But at least I can get on.
