Beginners' Questions Input Devices - What do the modes mean?

    Hi, all!

    Β

I just got an XP-PEN Deco1v2, which I am trying to use in Inkscape.

    Β

In the dialog that comes up when Inkscape > Input Devices... is selected, there is a pull-down labeled "Mode." The choices are Disabled (I understand that one ^_^), Screen, and Window.

    Β

I'm sure the meaning of the second two are clear to most people, but I am baffled. I could find nothing in the Inkscape docs about it and nothing in the forums. What exactly is meant by "Screen" and "Window"?

    Β

    Thank you!

    It's a variation on this ideaΒ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axu9ELhV5XM

which applies to most tablets on most systems.

Well, yes, but that video is about a Wacom tablet.

    Β

I get that there is Mouse (Relative) and Pen (Absolute) (my Deco 1v2 uses both of those term sets), but I don't see how that translates to the "Screen" and "Window" in Inkscape.

    Β

Can someone translate into one of the sets of terms I understand?

    Β

    Thank you.

    K
