dadoprom pointed enve out to me as an animation program that complements Inkscape. I like his robot animation. The fact that it imports .svg files and has basic Inkscape drawing functions makes it attractive as a step toward using Inkscape seriously in animation.
I worked with a retired volcanologist years ago, Professor Alex McBirney. He had written several books on volcanology, igneous this and that and others, and he loved to test the competence of publishing companies. His little cartoon self-portraits made it through the copy-editing process unscathed. I couldn't help but to animate one of them. The animation is definitely a draft, especially considering my lack of experience with animation techniques. It is here as an attachment (3.42 Mbytes). I hope this example, courtesy of enve, gives everybody a chuckle.
Happy Holiday Seasons, or Happy Holiday Seasonings, because I'm in the kitchen mixing spices and zinging the taste buds with a bit of burgundy!
I'm glad you like the little animation. It just hit me one day with a cup of strong coffee in one hand and sofa underneath the appropriate part of the anatomy. I strongly invite, urge, cajole, and suggest that you play around with what I put together and create something altogether new and imbued with your sense of good humor and personality. May Santa be munificent, Roy

Real cool smoke cloud. It will look great in retro effects or similar colors.
