This is what I have so far for the November flower challenge. I didn't make the logo in Inkscape, I downloaded it from this site. It's the first time I draw roses and I'm not convinced with the result, but well, I'm trying 😄
@mrks9 Your composition is interesting, it reminds me somewhat of Alice in Wonderland (Queen of Hearts). What would you like to improve about your image, maybe I can help?
@pacer Actually the first idea was a skull with to the roses and poker cards, but I have not been able to integrate it. Let me clean up the svg file a bit, it's a mess, and share it 😁
OK, I'll see what can be done regarding the quota.
I am going to change the title of this thread to avoid confusion for other members of the forum.
I'll see what can be done with this graphic, though, in the future, you might want to try composing your graphic on paper first, I find that helps me a lot. :)
Thank you. Yes, the ideal is paper first, but I don't know how to draw, that's why I like Inkscape so much, it allows me to transfer some ideas that I can't capture in any other way.
I was just looking for suggestions. In fact, since the initial plan didn't go the way I wanted it to, I've been looking for a second idea. And now I'm not sure which one to go with 😄 Sorry for the mistakes. I use a translator
@mrks9 Your artwork is good. The following suggestions might offer some further direction.
I would recommend you to focus on concept and composition. Think about what you want the viewer to think, feel and focus on. In one of your reference images (in the first svg file), the skull appears to be the main graphic with roses and cards used as props.
Also, you aren't far off with the roses, but I would spend a little longer working on the petals.
Lighting: The stems are lit from the top. This should, ideally, apply to the petals.
@mrks9 Shading is fairly simple, but takes a little practice to master. It is good that you know your weaknesses, but don't let them defeat you. I strongly suggest following a pencil drawing tutorial on shading (today if you have time). Pencil drawing skills are not lost, as they transfer easily to digital art. I suggest using a pencil for practise, as it easier to understand drawing concepts when you have the flexibility of pencil on paper. 'Digital shading' is more tricky (especially 'vector shading'), but once you have understood the concept (which I expect you will learn quickly), you will find ways to achieve it in Inkscape.
You implied that you are not fluent in English, so I won't send a link to a video, but drawing is ubiquitous, so I'm sure you will find good tutorials in you native language.

Post the Inkscape svg and I'll take a look. :)

@pacer I can't upload the svg file because of lack of space, is there any other way to share it? 🤔

Thank you for extending the megabytes. Here is the svg.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I don't have much idea about shading and I make a lot of mistakes.

@pacer Thank you again. What I usually do to get an idea of how light works is to use Blender in a very basic way. This helps me a bit.
