    Trying to do something for the August challenge, but I'm not convinced. Everything is very much at the beginning but suggestions are welcome🤔😀

    Nice!

    It is a good start and can end up being a very ambitious project.

    Like adding a woven texture to the shoealce, experimenting with how to bend a textile pattern on the fabric design are both hard to pull off.

    Could add many-many fancy details if that is your goal.

    My personal side note would be, for the August challenge's sake (for future reference https://inkscape.org/forums/competitions/inkscape-challenge-1-august-2022-31-august-2022/)

    I'd advise choosing an object that isn't mostly one-sided.

    A shoe is most recogniseable from its side -once you finished a sideview, you cannot maintain the same amount of efficiency on another view.

    In this case even that side view alone can be very challenging.

    I'm tinkering with the idea further on what to draw where both views are "equally strong" or fulfill eachother.

    Like knowing the challenge is intended purpose is on realism (hardly possible in my opinion in a 2D vector environment);

    but what if it had a more phylosophical meaning behind?

    The "another point of view" could mean alot of things that way, open for many interpretations.

    @Lazur Thanks so much for the feedback. I like your ideas, but I'm afraid some of them exceed my capacity. If something comes out, fine. If it doesn't, that's okay too. But something will be tried, the important thing for me is the fun in the process.  Thanks again 👌

    This amazing! those shoelaces and grommets are perfect! I could offer two things. 1) the black line shouldn't be seen above the toe cap. 2) if you straightened up the shoes laces of the shoes hanging from the wire it will be more realistic.if you're looking for and idea for the august challenge you might want to show the view looking up up at the shoes hanging from the wire from directly underneath them. that would look pretty sweet! but as is, this image is very awesome!

    @sketch_of_life Thank you so much. I think I know what you mean about the black line and looking at the references, you are right, thanks for the warning. Of course, also about the laces, although this image was just to show the concept. As for the idea of looking up, I love it, but being a 2d work I would have to redo everything and draw a proper view. I don't have that much capability, I'm just an hobbyist 😊

    It's great, especially after you've applied the textures. One question: wouldn't the two lateral circles (near the sole) have to be opened? I think they are for ventilation...
