Beginners' Questions Using union to connect my text to a circle.

    I'm having issues with using union to connect my text inside the circle so when i cut on my glowforge it cuts it as all one piece.   

    I am very new to this and spend hours using you tube videos but i obviously did something wrong.

    Can someone please help me?
