Beginners' Questions Inkscape program freezing after trying to modify file in Inkscape

    When I try to modify objects in the file, Inkscape will freeze not responding to my inputs. The file in question has no unused definitions and is 19,510KB. Can someone explain to me how Inkscape is crashing and how to solve the problem. This is a recurring problem which I have encountered on most of the files I have on Inkscape.

    Most svg files are a few hundred kb.  These are extremely large.

     

    Please post a link to an example file on dropbox or other filesharing site.
