Beginners' Questions Feature idea: handling pages and margins as in the Select tool

(Posting in this forum because not sure where else it should go. I've used Inkscape since 2009 but I'm a newbie with the Pages tool.)

I was wondering how people feel about moving and resizing pages and margins in the Pages tool. Would it be more intuitive if it worked the same as the moving and resizing an object in the Select tool? While some might think that's a whole set of useless features, here some examples I'd believe to be useful:

    * I can move a page dragging anywhere on it, like an object. But pressing the Ctrl key does not snap it to moving horizontally or vertically. Instead, only the new "alignment snapping" makes it possible.

    * Margins have handles along the sides. But I can't Shift-drag them to resize the margins symmetrically. And I can't Ctrl-drag to resize margins while preserving their aspect ratio.

    * Pages have handles in the corner. But I can't Ctrl-drag them to increase the page size with the same aspect ratio.

    * Pages don't have handles in the middle, so to resize just one dimension I would again rely on snapping.

Am I the only one finding their muscle memory interrupted? Is the way the select tool works due for an overhaul, and the pages tool is showing the way (where more will be handled by snapping)?
