Hi folks, I wondering anyone like me when click on layer, it show the object selected but I can't make it move by click on all arrow keys! I have to use mouse click on that object once again, then the arrow key working again! this sucks!
After selecting an object in the Layers dialog, press the escape key to switch the focus back to the canvas, then the arrow keys should be active for transforms.
It has been this way as long as I can remember, with the exception of 1.1.x or 1.2.x, where clicking on a layer in the Objects & Layers dialog selected the layer as if it were a group.

Hi Tyler,
Thanks for your prompt reply, just a simple "escape" key is all I need to know! And it working perfectly now, you made my day! 😍 👏👏👏
Thanks Tyler.
- Happy that it helped the OP but it is not working with me (Inkscape 1.3.2 and 1.4 beta, on win 11). Which version do you use ?
- May I ask from where do you know this ? I have not been able to find in the documentation.
Thanks again.
I'm using 1.3.2 on Windows 10 and Linux Mint 20

Thanks for your answers.
1.4 beta is not working at all as it should from this point of view, and 1.3.2 is not perfect... https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/issues/5088
