There isn't a lot of mesh gradient based drawings made in Inkscape. Mesh shading is what I primarily use on most of my pictures, more so than even solid fill.

This looks really great. I've never used mesh shading before but it seems really useful.

    Hi,

Mesh shading is great for fine-detail subtle shading and when you want to highlight smooth geometries under lighting.  I show how to use it for air-brush effects in my tutorial series.  I recommend taking a peek at:

Mesh gradients was new enough for me when I learned how to use it that I put this particular tutorial into three sections (A, B, and C), so new learners could spend some quality time with the concept.  Boxcutter, very nice work!  apmbcn, actually both of you, Boxcutter and apmbcn, if my tutorials can add any insights and ideas, great!  Take care, both of you, Roy

Thanks for the tutorials, Roy. Ever since I discovered the mesh tool I've been looking for as many tutorials as I can. There aren't many online. I've mostly figured it out on my own but I'm always looking for tips I hadn't heard of.

Mesh gradients, I've found, are surprisingly simple to learn and to master. I think that I've only scratched he surface of how they could be used.

    Hi Boxcutter,

I'm surprised at the paucity of mesh tutorial and tutorial on other techniques.  I'm very glad, on the other hand, that what I wrote can be of help.  I wish you continued success and fulfillment with what you're doing!  Roy
