Do you need the miters? If not a simple larger rectangle with the image above should do. Otherwise; Drawing one trapezoid is easy and can be adjusted quick to different frame size with the Node tool.
When using pen tool, just click, don't drag. End your path by pressing enter key.
When doing path > linked offset, inkscape creates another object (here, under the first one*) : you can adjust the offset by dragging the diamond handle. Linked offset allows you to resize rectangle (offset follows) before combining the two objects.
Shapebuilder works even you did not combine rectangle and its linked offset.
When using shapelbuilder, click one time on each frame part, don't click and drag or you will fuse parts into one object.
I have a picture and I want to add a Frame - simple Rectangle - so the result should look like https://anandgifts.com/product/mosaic-photo-frame/
But the Frame should be above everything that is outside the original image.
Tried this:
1) Put image in rectangle and create bigger outside rectangle (frame) but when putting image above frame - image parts are shown on frame
2) Second idea was to create 4 convex areas like theese red areas to imitate frame: https://postimg.cc/sG7fJ3gj/84e6ab04 - can do very time consuing
Are there other ways to make simple frame?
