For the most part Inkscape has produced SVG files which the laser cutter can handle. Except when I try to crop an image. Consider the following steps:
Starting with a set of paths: Image Cropping1
Trying to crop those paths using a square window: Image Cropping2
Duplicate the window, select all, and use Object->Clip->SetLooks good visually: Image Cropping3
But the paths are still there: Image Cropping 4This would confuse my laser cutter which follows paths.
None of the Boolean operations were successful.Until I found Hackmann's Pathops:https://inkscape.org/~Moini/%E2%98%85multiple-boolean-operations-with-inx-pathopsDuplicating the window again, selecting all, use Extensions->Boolean Operations->Cut Path:Immedately copying the result: Image Cropping5a
Consider the difference by selecting all paths: Image Cropping5b
Pathops works! Thanks to Maren Hackmann!
