So I had edited a text box, deleted the current text, but then forgot and started on something else. I later made a new text box and went on with my drawing.
Because of this, I have a text object in my drawing, but it has no actual text in it, thus it remains invisible.
This wouldn't be a problem except that when I try to open this file in GIMP it screws up with rendering text objects and turns them into solid black boxes. All the rest of the text in my drawing I had converted into paths, but not this blank one.
But the blank text still "exists" and when I open the file in GIMP I get this big black box on my drawing.
How do I select this blank text so that I can delete it?
No way to search just the empty text objects (that I know of), but all text can be found, including the empty. Also, the emptys can be selected by cycling with the TAB key with the text tool active.

Shouldn't it appear in the Objects list then - select - hit backspace or hit "-"
I was not aware that there was an objects list.
But after a quick search, I found this list... and found that it was introduced in version 0.92, and I have version 0.91.
You gotta be kidding me with this crap...
Honestly - No. We're on 1.1 BTW.
Big changes in .92, and in 1.0. And mostly good.
Text objects in .91 can be found with the search, or by typing some text and using select same. The XML editor can also be used.
I can see and delete a blank text object in 1.1 Object manager. But is there a way to search for "blank" text?
I tried File->Clean up Document. But that didn't remove it.

YES! I got it now! Thank you so much!
