I am about editing an SVG of the Ukraine, but the Ukraine and the Crimea are one object. I would like to "cut off" the Crimea, and I tried to use the eraser, but to no avail.:-( What else could I try?
Depends on how complex the shape is outlined. I‘d try the Node tool, select one node from the Crimea shape then Edit->Select all and hit Backspace to delete. If there‘s some remainings select and delete.

Thanks, it worked.
