I have a section of a nautical chart that I want to vectorize for use as a CNC program. The graphics come out good but I have not been able to get the text to come out in any readable way. Any hints to get raster text to come out as something machinable? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Where do you get the map from? Have you scan it or get you them from someone? Does the graphic and text in one picture / bitmap?
I mean the text must seperated from bitmaps. Do you have an example. Perhaps use GIS.
Here is something like this the other way round.

It might be possible to use an OCR program that outputs PDF.
You'd still need to trace bitmap for the non-text elements, but much of the text might be useful.
