I have an SVG create from a png file. This is to create a small (100x72mm) case layer to attach a raspberry Pi Zero to.
The png image has very smooth holes in the image, which are 2.5mm diameter.
As I need to create a 3d print file from this image, I am using trace bitmap to create the path. The issue I am having is the settings I have tried so far are creating jagged holes rather than smooth circular holes. Obviouly this means the 3d object I create in Blender (using the resultant SVG file) is pretty poor quality.
I am wondering if this is due to the fact I am using the actual width/height of the final object and maybe this is too small for bitmap? I have attached a screen print that shows the path created above and the original image below, plus an svg that has these both within it. any ideas?
Because of this low res image I had better luck with GIMP; load select by color - slection to Path - Path export to .svg - open in Inkscape - Pat-> break apart - select one circular shape and call path->Path Effects->Circle from Points - boom! Circle by 2 nodes. Select the corrected Circle go next one and hit "&" to paste the exact same Path effect without calling it. When done select every circle and go Path->Object to Path - add select frame path and go Path->Combine:
(I left one circle uncorrected and un-combined)
PS.: if it´s my file I´d manual draw it from scratch.

Same here.
