Beginners' Questions trace bit map

    hi new to this i have a image sent of text nd background tht i have traced the bit map and got rid of the back ground ofk so just left with the text fonts and poped it into a file toย  do further work such as size up readey for the cutter but haave noticed some of the fonts in the text the straight lines have goneย  is they away to make them straight again ย

    When I was doing something similar in another product (a trial version of Corel Draw) I think the way I did it was to get the nodes to display, then delete nodes from along what used to be the straight line. Once you only have a node at each end, it has to be straight. Then you may need to edit it to get it horizontal if it needs to be.

    Ok how do i delete the nodes i did press simplyfi in the path but the image went worse

    ive been selecting the nodes ane pulling them down it seem to have rounded the text when i did the trace bit map

    Use the Edit Paths by Nodes tool.ย  Select the object.ย  Pick the tool, second one down on the left vertical tool bar, (third if you count the first icon in the top horizontal tool bar.)ย  It is also keyboard shortcut N.

    EDIT:ย  Some objects are not paths.ย  Only paths can be edited by nodes.ย  For example a rectangle is not a path.ย  Some of things things that look like nodes it shows are for rounding corners.ย  You have to convert the rectangle to path before node editing can occur.ย  Many shapes and text have what look like nodes that offer extra functions, but only paths have nodes.
